Why
should we lead our members to sacrifice together in order to
complete such a great undertaking? Why should we build on to our
existing structure, which requires so much of our energies, finances, and resources? First of all, because we love Jesus Christ more than the gifts and resources He has given to us. He offered Himself, and so must we moment by moment. Thank God for the opportunity to express our love for Christ in such a visible and tangible manner!
Secondly, because we trust God with our finances that Christ will fulfill His purposes in and through us. Christ leads through leading our elders that He may be worshipped in a larger sanctuary, enhancing the spread of grace-centered truth, loving community, and compassionate missions.
Finally, it is our hope that our prayers and gifts will be answered with blessings on future generations in our new and enlarged campus. People and place matter. Our leadership, our community, and our longings for God’s glory call us to hope together that this effort will invest in eternal riches we will not fully realize `til heaven.
Kairos, in Greek, means “a significant season of time in which the Lord advances His kingdom” on earth. Kairos makes this present moment spiritually significant for those who will enter Christ’s kingdom in the future.
May our Lord Jesus, therefore, supply and revitalize our faith, hope, and love to complete our plans. Let us love Jesus Christ supremely in these days so that no sacrifice is too great; let us trust Him so that no obstacle would appear too much; and may the Lord Jesus grant each of us His heart’s desire for the future generations yet to come.
